Totton Carnvial 2014

This was us at this years Totton carnvial and we planning to enter again in july 2015. The theme was !00 years of Totton carnival, and we decorated our small float with banners and shop fronts, depicting the shops that have come and gone in the last 100 in Totton.  About 12 young people dressed as shop keepers or shoppers from the 60's/ 70's and hada great time on the float collecting money along the route for local charities.

Thanks to the small army of leaders, parents and friends who helped us to build and decorate the float in record time - it appears we were missed out from the judging of the floats, but that didn't dampen our spirits. The weather was great and we sang and waved our way down Salisbury Road toward Eling recreation ground.

A special thanks goes to Peter and Jackie Lewis for the use of their trailer and for towing the float during the carnival possession.

Celebration & Presentation evening

Our annual Celebration & Presentation evening went very well with our members displaying some of the activties they have been involved with and skills they have developed over the least 12 months;

The girls put on a mini muscial written and directed by one of our older girls, Isabel Clifford. The story was a modern day fairy tale with a wicked wizard steeling a precious necklace from a beautiful princess and a brave band of young women tasked with setting off to defeat the Wizard and return the necklace by using their individual skills to help each other along the journey.

Well done to everyone who took part  - it was great.

We also raised a fantastic £25 for our WaterAid appeal from donations of people who had come to support us.

The girls were presented with their well earned badges and certifcates by our company president Mrs Joan White and all the leaders where recognised for the valuble contribution they make to GB, not just each Wednesday evening but the planning, prepartion, meetings and training they attend to make this happen - thanks again to all our leaders.
