As, Brigaders we are the oldest members of the company, starting at 14 years of age or school years 10-13. We can work towards 3 seperate awards; The Brigaders Brooch, Young Leaders Awards and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards (see DofE page).
To obtain their Brigader Brooch, the we follow the n:spire programme, choosing the Badge topic from a number of "Channels" we then decide how to complete the project or task. We run this along side the Duke of Edinbrough award to gain maximum benefit.
The Brigader section is a small friendly group, currently lead by Jan and Rachel and we meet between 7:00 - 8:30pm.
Current Uniform:
Brigaders have previously used Just Dance videos to improve their fitness for their Physical Badge, learnt First Aid for their Education Badge, completed the Young Leadership training programme towards their Service Badge and joined in weekly discussions on the "Fruits of the Spirit" sharing of views and ideas of Christain faith to contribute towards their Spiritual Badge.
We joined other company members for a Caneoing adventure along Beaulieu River. We are busy planning some FUNd raising activities for next Term - come and join us!
Badge Bag layout for Brigaders
If they joined as an Explorer, the Brigaders Badge bag is starting to look very busy, but there is still room for their purple centered, Bronze, Silver and Gold Circle awards, Brigader Brooch, Young Leaders award and Duke Of Edinburgh Awards
We hope this will prompt many happy memories of their time in Girls Brgiade and remind them of the all the activties and skills they have learnt along the way.
